Llambec’s years of design and experience in Vibratory Equipment was again put to the test when approached by Boynton for their Platinum Mine in the Pilandsberg to find a solution to the lack of sufficient feed into the plant from their existing Tip Areas which had been ongoing for a few years.

Llambec tailor designed three 1500 wide x 8000 long Kinetic Energy Saving Vibrating Feeders, weighing 15 tonne but using only 7, 5 kWs feeding 800mm lumps at the required rate of 550tph for each Tip Area.

These feeders are capable of 500 tph and were installed in September 2010. They have allowed Pilandsberg Platinum to obtain for the first time a steady feed rate into their Secondary Plant for further processing.

 

Traditional Brute Force Equipment could not be considered because of the high power consumed, the extent of the problem with the design parameters available and size of each tip area. A Brute Force Unit weighing 15 tonne would have required 75 kWs.
